Heading B7L [Also in Division F2] A conveying line comprises a rack having a flexible spindle 1 with teeth 2, the rack being slidable in a guide 9 having a longitudinal slot 10, the rack being moved by a pinion 12 engaging the teeth 2 and driven by a motor (not shown) and a load 15 is suspended from a conveying frame 14 as shown which has an engaging device 13 engaging between teeth 2 in the slot 10 so that movement of the rack conveys the load. The guide 9 may have a circular or rectangular cross-section. The teeth 2 can be formed integrally with the spindle 1 or can be moulded on to it separately, and both spindle 1 and teeth 2 can be of plastics material. |
