Electric fuse with ceramics support base - has fuse wire connected between two pins sealed in epoxy resin

The fuse has an insulating material support base (2) made of ceramics which has two recesses and holes (4). The bottom of each recess is covered with a layer of epoxy resin (6) which seals a pin (5) fitted in the hole (4). The fuse also has a window (7) made of a material which changes colour due to the increase in temperature of the fusible wire (8). The recesses are filled with silicon oxide to absorb the internal pressure due to the fusion of the wire (8). The silicon oxide (9) is covered by a layer of plaster (10). The middle part of the fuse has the fusible wire (8) and is sealed with a cardboard cover (11).
