Steam regulating valve with two-stage throttle - has perforated cylinder behind valve seat with guide rings to control back pressures

The valve has a steam inlet and outlet and a movable closure in a valve housing. The closure is also designed as a throttle and there is a second throttle stage consisting of a perforated cylinder (22) fitting behind the valve seating, and variations in back pressure are compensated out. The steam flows in an axial direction into the perforated cylinder (22) and radially outwards from it. On the outer side of the cylinder there are a number of concave guide rings (26) fitted together. There can be a number of perforated cylinders (22, 23, 24) fitted coaxially with the guide rings on the outer cylinder. The apertures in the cylinder are in the same radial plane but are offset from one another.
