Vacuum isolator switch drive system - has relatively movable magnetic cores of multi-pole discs rotating in housing

The moving contact of vacuum isolator switch has a driving device consisting of two relatively movable magnetic cores, whose magnetic field is variable by the relative shifting of the cores. The magnetic cores consist each of multi-pole disc magnet(s), the relative movement being the discs rotation. Preferably a plastics core is rotatably mounted in a housing and coupled to the moving contact. To this core face is rigidly secured a multi-pole magnetic disc, while a second magnetic disc is fixed in the housing in its longitudinal direction. Preferably each face of the plastics core may carry a disc magnet. Electromagnets may replace the magnetic discs or may be provided in addition.
