A method of making an ion-selective membrane of an ion-selective electrode, comprising the steps of coating surfaces of granules of a sulfide compound selected from the group consisting of CdS, PbS and CuS with layer of Ag2S by chemical reaction in AgNO3 solution, and compressing the resultant granules to form a membrane. The characteristics of the electrode are improved by activating the granules by etching before coating, and further improved by repeating the steps of coating and crushing so as to provide finer granules. |
