<p>The cords (2) are provided with heating wires. The cable is waterproofed by heating the cable interior by the heating wires, and injecting the grease, which has been liquefied by heating, into the cable interior under pressure over the cords (2). One cable end is pref. sealed in a vacuum-tight manner, and the cable interior is evacuated at the other end before the introduction of the grease. The perforations (5) in the hollow cords (2) are pref. initially sealed by drawing thin tubes over the cords, these tubes consisting of a shrinkable plastic material, e.g. PVC, crosslinked polyethylene, EVA copolymer, or tatrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer, that is destroyed by the elevated temp/pressure during the injection of the grease.</p> |
