The skip (9) is slung from pivotted support arms (4, 5) using chains (11) and is lifted onto the back of the lorry by hydraulic rams (6, 7) linked to the pivotted arms. The bottom sides of the skips are provided with axle stubs (9.1) in different positions depending on the design of skip. Telescopic arms (12) are positioned along each side of the lorry, with hooks (14) at the ends. When the skip is loaded onto the lorry the hooks engage the axle stubs by pulling in the telescopic arms. If the skip is to be tipped then the arms are extended as the skip is slung rearwards over the end of the lorry, with the front mountings of the arms pivotted so that the hooks can remain attached to the axiel stubs.
|
