Increasing strength of woods and building materials - rods of glass fibre reinforced material inserted into cut notches

The process increases the tensile, loading, bending, compression, shearing, cracking and breaking strength of new and old woods, concrete girders, walls, etc. Notches are hollowed out of or cut or milled into the material. The rods are inserted and the notches are then filled with epoxy resin to which a hardener has been added and covered over with an epoxy resin paste. To improve compression strength, further notches may be cut into the upper side of the beam and inserts made of different mixtures of epoxy resins and hardener and different fillers such as glass fibres, quartz sand and others introduced.
