<p>The rear light cluster is made in a wedge shaped housing (22) with a curved lens forming part of a circular cylinder, with the centre of the cylinder at the rear end of the wedge. Two arms (14) are pivotted at the centre of the cylinder and support a horizontal bar (16) over the face of the cylindrical lens. The bar is fitted with bristles and the arms are sprung to hold them in the mid position on the lens. Road vibration causes the wiper to oscillate over the lens to clean it. The lens is split into diagonal stripes of transparent raised ridges (21) and sunken grooves (20) into which the road dirt is wiped. The wiper operates without any power source.</p> |
