1472895 Liquid-tight containers CHRISTENSSONS MASKINER & PATENTER AB 18 March 1974 [16 March 1973] 11892/74 Heading B8P In a container including a liquid impermeable bowl and a lid adapted to form a sealed joint with the upper edge portion of the bowl, the bowl is formed from a blank comprising a lamination of at least two thin liquid impermeable films, and the base of the bowl and portions extending from the base towards the lid are reinforced whilst the upper edge portion of the bowl is not reinforced. The reinforcing may be provided by a cardboard or plastics layer laminated between the two liquid impermeable films and extending over the relevant portions of the blank, or may consist of a basket fitted inside or outside of the container bowl, e.g. welded thereto (Figs. 7 and 8, not shown). The blank may consist of base 9, wall panels 10 and panels 12 which provide corner gussets in the erected bowl; and an intermediate cardboard layer which reinforces all but the rim 16, which rim may be enclosed in a frame of stiff material, e.g. having a downwardly open groove which engages the rim, and the bowl may be provided with a sealing film lid attached to the inner portion of the rim 16, and also with a reclosable lid (4) (Fig. 4, not shown).
