<p>The disconnecting device is intended for irreversible interruption of the current flow through the wound capacitor in cup-shaped housing. The application is especially suitable for capacitors in which excessive gas pressure may lead to dangerous deformation of the internal lead wires. The disconnecting device uses a breaking point on one or both lead wires which is in the form of a loop (13) enclosing 360 deg. in a more or less tight manner. The application is preferably for a copper wire. If the breaking points are arranged on both wires, they may be preset for different deformation conditions. The breaking point may be adjusted to different deformation conditions by adjusting the diameter of the loop.</p> |
