A new way of manufacturing, processing and transporting hydrocarbons based on the qualities of the streams that allow optimization of the hydrocarbons supply chain by: (A) a new sequential line up of process units to produce liquid product(s) and a solid hydrocarbon product(s): "The Solid Residue Solution"; (B) transportation for a first time of solid vacuum residue into railcars, trucks, barges and/or ships to the final destination that can be storage areas, terminal(s) and/or refineries; and (C) the processing for the first time of solid product(s) by melting and heating it (them) at the final destination(s) (i.e. storage areas, terminals and/or refineries) to be fed to a vacuum distillation tower and/or to a deep conversion unit (i.e. delayed coker, fluidcoker, LC Fining, H-Oil, etc.). This innovation is applicable to any single or mixture of hydrocarbons that includes one or more medium crude oils, heavy crude oils, extra heavy crude oils, tar sands and/or bitumens whose residue yields a minimum of 20% in volume at cut points greater or equal to 530 degrees Centigrade, based on a TBP distillation. New facilities or existing facilities may be converted to produce the solid hydrocarbon product(s). |
