<p>Acid resistant waste gas ducts, esp. for use downstream of SO2 or chlorine scrubbers are made from multilayer acid resistant layers of wood laminated using adhesive. Acid resistance and the ability to withstand occasional accidental high temps. are achieved in a lightweight and inexpensive structure, which can be quickly erected. Chimneys of laminated wood can be externally supported (if tall) or self supporting, wood or metallic reinforcing ribs used to give additional strength. This type of duct can also be used for noise attenuation. Layers of wood are glued together and coated.</p> |
