<p>A simple optical inspection device for inspecting the surfaces of workpieces in a mass production environment is presented. The device is specially suited to the discovery of fractures or scratches, and avoids the use of oil and microscopes as in traditional equipment of this kind. The equipment consists basically of a box (1) in which is mounted a halogen lamp (6) with a reflector (7). The workpieces (5a, b, c, d) pass below the box on a roller transport system and are illuminated by the lamp. An image of the illuminated surface is viewed through a system of lenses (9) mounted in an eyepiece (10) to which the image is directed by a mirror (8) mounted at a suitable angle within the box (1).</p> |
