A training harness is used for controlling the movements made by a swimmer and it consists of two sets of straps (13, 16) which are attached to the wrists and upper arms of the swimmer. The straps are connected by chains or cables (26) whose length can be adjusted. The restriction to arm movement is used to prevent the performance of any incorrect swimming stroke, the arms are constrained to remain bent thus improving the style and speed of the swimmer. The harness can also be adopted to restrict the movement of the legs in order to improve performance.
