Mouldings of synthetic thermoplastic matl. admixed with a foaming agent, are produced by means of an arrangement in which the propellant is injected into the melt between the plasticiser unit and the injection outlet nozzle. The inlet for the additive, opens into a passage between the plasticiser unit and a mixing chamber, from which the plastic mass passes into a buffer chamber before it is injected through the nozzle. A device produced with very little expense for machining, etc. Can be operated intermittently to produce a homogeneous melt and a good foam structure.
