In a stamping out machine, esp. for use with textiles, paper, cardboard, rubber, rubber-like matls. or plastics, by means of strip steel stamping cutters working in conjuction with a counter pressure plate, this plate consists of a soft elastic matl. at least in the region of the working surface, and more esp. consists of a soft elastic layer supported on a support plate of high strength and stiffness. The arrangement reduces the damage caused to the counter pressure plate by the stamping cutter and therefore increases the length of life of the plate.
