<p>Multiple electric connectors of the type with upper and lower comb-like members which are fastened together and to which the connecting wires are attached, and which are then brought into connection with a corresponding contact plate, are made in apparatus where the required number of conductors (4, 5, 6) in strip of wire form is unwound from a set of spools (1, 2, 3) and fed to a frame where they are attached to the comb shaped members (7) by application of heat and pressure, then advanced with a stepping action, followed by cutting the conductors to length. An ultrasonic welding member (8) is raised and lowered at the welding position, then an advancing member (9) moves the assembly forwards and a further member (10) bends the wires downwards.</p> |
