发明名称 FOOT-OPERATED CONTROL DEVICE
摘要 1445614 Actuation of switches and rheostats; electric motor control SIEMENS AG 20 June 1973 [26 June 1972] 29394/73 Headings H1N and HIS [Also in Division H2] A foot-control device as used for actuating dental apparatus has a housing 1 incorporating a footbar rest 4 with a friction grip plastics strip 6, an actuating member 2 to arm 16 of which is attached foot application means 3 movable in a horizontal plane in a path within a recess 5, a footplate actuator 10 pivotally hinged at 11, and two depressible actuating elements 8, 9. When the arm 16 of the actuating member 2 is displaced, against the action of restoring means, to various operating positions on either side of a central basic position 2<SP>11</SP>, Fig. 3, the shallowcurved travel-path of the foot application means 3 is achieved by providing the actuating member 2 with an articulated pivotal first bearing 21, 23, 27, the pin 21 describing a concavely curved path, and a slidably guided second bearing 25, 26 which describes a linear path. Alternative embodiments of bearing arrangement to achieve this travel path are described with reference to Figs. 7, 8 (not shown). Movement of the arm 16 acts on a pinion and gearwheel drive 33, 34 of a rotary potentiometer-type rheostat 36 by means of a drive pin 29 attached to the arm engaging with a forked pivotal member 30 attached to the pinion and a cam disc 37 located about the rheostat pivot 35 formed with recesses 38, 39 controls the operational sequence of two switches 40, 41 according to the portion of the arm. Also depressible against spring action is the shroud 19 of the foot application means 3 to actuate a switch 18 which has electrical connection leads carried along the arm 16 and is operable in any position of the means 3. A hinged footplate 10 extending the full width of the foot-control device acts as an actuator for a switch 15, Fig. 2, when downwardly depressed against the action of spring 14, independently of the foot application means 3. Two further switches 42, 44 are respectively operated by depression of the actuating buttons 8, 9, the button 9 having an extension pusher 45 which triggers a latching device 42<SP>1</SP> (described with reference to Figs. 5, 6, not shown) in the form of a push-push operate/retract mechanism by means of which a spring-loaded pin (55) snaps in rearwardly of the end 56 of arm 16 when the actuating member 2 reaches either of its operating end positions and holds the arm latched in such positions until released by a second actuation of button 9. Details of the functional control exercised by the various switches and the rheostat as applied to a dental electric drill are described with reference to Fig. 9 (not shown) in Division H2. The claims are mainly directed to the bearing and movement features for the actuating member 2 acting on electrical switches and/or electrical control means. Specifications 1,445,613, 1,445,612, 1,445,615 and 1,445,616 are referred to.
