Biogenic aromatic amines from aromatic amino acids - using a decarboxylase obtd. from basidiomycetes

Prepn. of biogenic aromatic amines from aromatic amino acids comprises using a decarboxylase obtd. from basidiomycetes (either in crude form or in the pure form in phosphate buffer pH 5.5) as biocatalyst. Biogenic amines play an important role in the central and vegetatural nervous system, e.g. having sympathomimetic and psychotomimetic action and are therefore of great biochemical, pharmacological and medicinal interest.
