Installation fitted to the impeller wheel of a blower to reduce the degree of sound caused by the impeller air flow, especially used for a impeller wheel fitted within the area of a radiator of I.C. motors. A cylindrical ring (4) made from acoustically absorbent material is fitted to the wheel circumference (3) at a small radial distance from the impeller ends. The measurements of the ring (4) are arranged to ensure that width measurements (6, 7) when viewed in the direction of air flow (10) on the side lying behind the wheel centre plane (8) is considerably greater than the width measurement of the side lying in front of the wheel centre plane (8).
