The appts. is used to operate the lifting blades of a Jacquard machine, to control the lifters for the warp yarns. Each lifting blade is powered by a separate drive unit. The system gives a precise control over the movement of the warps, so that each warp yarn cam be moved into the closed shed position at a slightly different time from its neighbours to protect the warps and prevent friction damage by contact between warps. The separate drive unit for each lifting blade is composed of a cam disc assembly with a roller lever and a linkage to transmite the motion to the lifting blade. Alternatively, the individual drive can be in the form of meshed gear wheels. |
