<p>1437005 Fabric type fasteners KANEBO Ltd 18 May 1973 [29 May 1972] 23828/73 Heading E2S A male element for a releasable touch-andclose fabric type fastener is made of a synthetic monofilament yarn composed of a core portion 6a and a sheath portion 6, the core portion being composed of a first polyamide polymer of a lower melting point than the sheath portion, which is composed of a second polyamide polymer, the element including a head portion composed of a core 6b and an outer layer 6c formed by the first polymer, and an inner portion 6d formed by the second polymer. The fastener is of the kind in which the male elements project from a fabric base (2), Fig. 1 (not shown) to engage loops of corresponding female elements. The yarn may be nylon, and the fastener may be made by a known method. Figs. 2A-2D (not shown). which includes heat treatment of the free ends of the elements (1') to produce the head portions. The temperature difference between the melting points of the first and second polymers may be more than 20‹C preferably in the range 40‹C to 60‹C.</p> |
