<p>1529627 Door hinges PAUMELLERIE ELECTRIQUE 18 Feb 1976 [4 March 1975] 06381/76 Heading E2F A door hinge (e.g. a rear vehicle door) comprises hinge parts 1, 7 for attachment to a support 6 and door 11 respectively provided with cylindrical knuckles 13, 14 which are linked via pivot pins 19, 21 to an intermediate member 18, and a locking member 23 in the form of a block slidable between the knuckles and having flat end faces 27, 28 which can engage flat surfaces 29, 31 milled onto the knuckles; the member 23 allowing pivotal movement about only one pin at a time-locking part 7 to member 18 while both rotate about pin 19 (Fig. 1) then allowing pivotal movement of part 7 about pin 21 while the member 18 is locked to part 1 (Fig. 6). Member 18 is formed from a base with upstanding side walls through which the pivot pins extend and between which the knuckles are located. The pins have retaining nuts on one end and bent over top portions of the side walls of member 18 retain the locking member 23 which may be solid (as shown) or of hollow section (Fig. 7, not shown).</p> |
