1365200 Recording-apparatus KIENZLE APPARATE GmbH 18 Feb 1972 [19 Feb 1971] 7670/72 Heading G1J A diagram disc 1 comprises a recording surface with information marked thereon in the form of diagrams suitable for automatic analysis and is characterized by the provision of one or more additional marks N; NN, one edge of the mark N defining a predetermined initial time of day (e.g. 0.00 hours) to which the analysis of the diagrams can be related. When used in a tachograph on a vehicle, one zone D of a disc may be marked with a narrow bar (DS) while the vehicle is stationary with its engine running and with a wide bar (DB) while the vehicle is moving. Different types of discs are used according to the time period to be represented by a complete revolution in the tachograph e.g. 24, 12 or 8 hours. The type is marked on the disc by coding interruptions of the mark N or of another mark NN so that when a disc is inserted in an analyzing device, as described in Specification 1365199, and is automatically clamped to a continuously rotating table, the passage of the coded mark NN or N under a sensor sets a pulse generator to an appropriate frequency and the passage of time mark N initiates a chain of pulses at the selected frequency. The pulses are gated to appropriate counters while a wide, narrow or no bar diagram passes the sensor, the device is programmed to print out totals representing the initial starting time and final stopping time of the vehicle and the elapsed times of various operations. |
