The baling press for a fork lift trucks is used as an accessory for the fork lift truck. The baling press container base rests on the load carrying fork and the compacting plate is hydraulically actuated in the vertical direction and moved into the container for compacting waste or other materials. The compacting plate is held on an overhanging member on the column held on the fork lift truck. The compacting force is provided by the lifting force exerted by the fork lift truck drive. The column is held by its base on a base frame with shoes made from square profiles. The container lower part holds a plastics sheet bag for compacted material.
