REFINING OF HEXAMETHYLENE DIAMINE

1378273 Hexamethylenediamine EIDUPONT DE NEMOURS & CO 19 Jan 1973 [21 April 1972] 2897/73 Heading C2C Hexamethylene diamine is purified by distilling it under reduced pressure in the presence of 1 to 25 p.p.m. of a strong base, e.g. an alkali metal hydroxide, calcium hydroxide or a.quaternary ammonium hydroxide. Preferably the base is added to the hexamethylene diamine as an aqueous solution.
