Above the vehicle (1) is fixed a four bladed propeller (2), with horizontal shaft and carried on supports (3), to drive a vertical transmission shaft (4), through a right angled drive gearbox (5) to a horizontal shaft (6) which drives the rear wheels (8). A reverser (7) is placed between the right angled gearbox and the rear axle. Wind power will propel the vehicle. The patent also covers powered vehicles utilising propeller power from air displaced by vehicle movement. Road or rail vehicles have front mounted propellers. |
