1379364 Aerials KABEL-UND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE AG 14 Feb 1973 [1 March 1972] 7264/73 Heading H4A [Also in Division H2] A mounting device for a radiating H.F. line 4 comprises a synthetic resin hood 5 which covers the line over its whole length. Said hood is open at one end, and is shaped at the other end to receive and hold the H.F. line. A base 6 is engageable with the open end of the hood 5. As described, the H.F. line 4 is a co-axial cable with inner conductor 8, dielectric 9, and longitudinally slotted outer conductor 10. It is supported above the sleepers of a railway track, to which the bases 6 are secured. The hood 5 is made of a thermoplastic material, such as polyethylene. Its line receiving portion is provided with locating means which co-operate with similar means of the cable 4, so that the radiating slot is correctly orientated. Recesses 11, 12 in the base 6, which may also be made of thermoplastic material, receive the hood 5 at its open end. Tongues 14 may be provided in the bases 6 for holding an auxiliary conductor 13. In order to facilitate transport and the laying of the hood, it may be temporarily wound on a drum. |
