The heat pump has an inlet chamber (11) and a discharge chamber (14). The section between them is divided by a vertical partition (7) to provide separate air passages (5, 6) over the evaporator (2) and the condenser (3). Air enters the inlet chamber (11) from the outside (9) and from the room (10), the two streams (17, 18) being kept apart by dampers and directed separately over the evaporator and condenser. The streams are discharged separately through the upper chamber (14) to outside (12) and to the room (13). Dampers in the upper and lower chambers are arranged so that in winter the outside air stream flows over the condenser and the inside air stream over the evaporator while in summer the outside air flows over the evaporator and the inside air over the condenser.
|
