Insulated conduit assembled from painted rigid foam components - for integrated insulation and fire retardant properties

Insulated conduit is assembled from component sections made of closed cell expanded material coated internally and externally with a relatively hard paint or fire retardant coating. Pref. the components are bodies of a fire retardant grade of expanded polystyrene, pref. coated with 'Albert' (RTM) fire retardant varnish. The components assemble longitudinally by spigot/socket joint and circumferentially by adhesive bonded faces incorporating tongue and slot locating joints. Esp. suitable for hot air central heating or ventilation ducts. Integrated light wt. and insulation characteristics, instead of applying insulating jackets to separate thin wall conduit.
