<p>The geared drive is used especially for agricultural machines which have rotating shafts carrying soil working tools. The drive gears are keyed on the driving shaft, and the output shaft carries two sliding members with gear wheels. The transmission ratio is changed in order to accommodate different solid conditions. Use of two sliding members simplifies the transmission design. The transmission unit has two sliding elements which are actuated by two rotating actuators. Each actuator has a handle with a disc which has a cutout. These cutouts are circular and they engage with the adjacent disc edge so that incorrect operation of the levers is not possible. While one given gear ratio is engaged the other gear changer is locked into the neutral position by this arrangement.</p> |
