摘要 |
<p>The melt is poured into the moulded at a point between the mould axis and the mould wall; and the central zone of the meniscus is scanned to obtain a signal corresp. with the radiation from that zone. The signal is fed to a comparator supplied with a standard reference value and any deviation is employed to adjust the rotational speed of the melt. The pref. appts. uses a photoelectric cell to feed the signal to a comparator, and a light beam may be employed to illuminate the central zone of the meniscus. The use of centrifugal force during the continuous casting of metals improves the quality of the ingot obtd. The slag and dross collects at the centre of the meniscus.</p> |
