<p>1355632 Injecting food SWIFT & CO 15 Jan 1973 [14 April 1972] 2087/73 Heading A2E A method of and apparatus for dispensing selected measured quantities of a liquid material for injection into a food item, for example a turkey, comprises filling the liquid into a metering means, arresting the filling when the quantity of liquid in the metering means reaches a selected quantity, and locking the metering means against further filling; connecting the metering means to the food item to be injected, unlocking, and fully emptying said metering means. The metering means may comprise a cylinder, with associated piston which serves to fill and empty the cylinders. If desired the food item may be weighed and the amount of liquid so selected so as to be a given percentage of the weight, such comparison may be effected electrically by means of a potentiometer attached to the scales and a comparison potentiometer driven by the filling mechanism of the metering means.</p> |
