1493779 Vulcanization press WAGENER & CO 10 June 1976 [20 June 1975] 24143/76 Heading B5A [Also in Division C3] A vulcanization press suitable for repair of conveyer belts or making endless belts of rubber or plastics comprises press platens 1 and 2, between which belt 3 is arranged for treatment, and has two press frames, each consisting of an upper pressure cross-beam 4, a lower pressure cross-beam 5, clamping tie-rods 6 and a row of pressure-cylinder and piston units arranged in upper cross-beam 4. Each pressure cross-beam is formed as a one-piece sectional beam of box girder form consisting of two side-walls 8 with stiffening flanges 9 and two internal webs 10 spaced from one another by the box dimension and joining the side walls together with portions 11, 12 of the side walls 8 having flanges 9 extending above and below beyond the webs 10. A continuous pressure bar 13 is located between portions 11 of the side walls 8, with associated pressure-cylinder pistons 7 set into holes 14 in webs 10. Side walls 8 may be provided with lateral bulges in the region between webs 10, as illustrated in Fig. 4 (not shown). Pressure bar 13 has foot portion 17 and head portion 18, the former having cavities 19 and upper corner chamfers 20. Each portion 18 is attached to rod 22 of piston 21 of units 7, the end of rod 22 resting in recess 23. The bar 13 is hung from lower web 10 by springs 24. |
