Clamping devices are constructed with quick action adjustment and locking features. This allows pre-determined positioning to be accurately repeated and gives a desired spring-loading of the clamps so that excessive pressures cannot be applied. Used in 'change-can' mixers in which a solid base foot carries a vertical pillar on which the agitator unit can move upwares of downwards, with the container for the materials being mixed placed either on the base of on a intermediate support table, on which it must be rigidly clamped before mixing takes places. A variety of containers sizes and shapes can be accommodated, and they can be positioned off-centre if desired. The system is stable against tilting or turning, and there is no danger of excessive pressure being applied to the walls of the vessel. |
