Transducer for loudspeakers or microphones - provided with independently acting but adjacently located transducer membrane films

In a transducer with multiple separately-acting membrane elements, each consisting of >=1 membrane of a piezo-electric film (I) which rests against and is fixed to both ends of a curved elastic carrier, all the membrane elements are installed next to each other in form of bulges and pref. each element is constructed as an elongated strip. The film (I) is pref. of polyvinylidene fluoride. Enables known designs to be so improved that the power of a loudspeaker (or microphone) using the transducers can be increased without increasing the loudspeaker size. Specifically, a series of membrane elements may form part of a single elongated strip which is then folded to form a series mutually adjacent layers each behaving as a separate membrane element.
