Tape recorder tape tension regulation unit - uses tape tension scanner for deflection of guide roller

A tape recorder tape tension regulating unit uses a scanner for scanning the tape tension between two tape reels. Dependant on the tension of the scanned tape, a deflection of the guide roller is produced which increases or decreases the braking or tensioning effect on the tape. Forces exercised as a result of the tape tension are converted to a signal which controls the torque of a reel motor or brake. The evaluated component of deflections of the guide roller (15) is at right angles to a straight line which results from the connecting line of the end points of diagonals starting form the diversion point.
