A known type of hydropneumatic pressure accumulator is a rigid vessel composed of two half-vessels rigidly bonded together, its interior being divided by a gas-tight displaceable partition wall into gas and liq. spaces respectively. The partition wall has a thickened peripheral rim held by and pressed against at least one of the half vessels by a retaining member, so as to seal the gas space w.r.t. the liq. space. An additional seal ring for avoiding leakage is also provided, while a liq. connexion opens into the liq. space and a pref. closable gas-filling opening is provided in the gas space. In order to extend the use of this device to lower operating temps., without the need for costly materials, the additional seal ring seals the gap between the thickened rim of the partition wall and the retaining member and/or the adjacent half vessel. an annular space is provided for the reception of this deformable seal ring within the thickened rim, within a half vessel and/or within the retaining member, the seal ring consisting of a different material of better low temp. stability than that of the partition wall. Permits the normal materials to be used at lower temps. partic. making it possible to control the temp. range from -40 degrees C to -60 degrees C without deterioration of the normal values of displacement behaviour, swelling strength, gas permeability and tear strength.
