1464236 Stabilizers for elastomers CIBAGEIGY AG 4 April 1975 [9 April 1974] 13824/75 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] An elastomer contains as a stabilizer a compound of formula where R 1 is C 3 or C 4 alkyl, R 2 is C 1 -C 4 alkyl, R 3 is hydrogen or methyl, n is 1 or 2 and R 4 when n = 1 is C 8 -C 14 alkyl, C 5 or C 6 cycloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl, phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 alkyl groups and/or alkoxy groups with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, a phenylthioalkyl group containing 8 or 9 carbon atoms, a radical of the formula -(CH 2 ) m XR 1 . Where X is O or S and m is 2 or 3 or when n=3, R 4 is C 2 -C 8 alkylene phenylene or a radical of the formula where q is 2 or 3. The elastomer may be a polyolefin, natural rubber or polybutadiene. In the examples polybutadiene compounded with 2,6-ditertbutylparacresol and trisnonylphenylphosphite is mixed with a compound of the above formula in which R 1 and R 2 are tertbutyl groups R 3 is hydrogen and R 4 is a dodecyl, octyl or hexamethylene group. |
