The process applies reinformcing sheets for handles on the inner faces of continuous sheets for the manufacture of bags and carrier bags. The edges of the continuous sheet are indexed forward for the width of a bag and moved apart, and the reinforcing sheets are inserted in pairs and assembled to it during the intervals between movements. The reinforcing sheets are parted off from a continuous one with adhesive on one face, and the leading one is inverted through 180 deg. round the axis of its direction of travel in relation of the following one, so that both their adhesive faces are towards the internal walls of the bag. The edges of these walls are then pressed against them. |
