<p>Medicated chewing gum contains dodecylmethylphenyl trimethyl ammonium hydroxymethyl sulphate (I) or cetylpyridinium chloride as antiseptic agent and pref. guaiazulene as decongestant. The active ingredients are released in the mouth over a much longer period than when normal tablets are taken. In an example, a chewing gum product of 4g. total wt. comprised 0.002g (I); 20-30% gum; 50-70% saccharose; 10-20% glucose; 0.6-1% flavourings and 0.5-3% of sorbitol, glycerine, butylhydroxyanisole, chlorophyll.</p> |
