<p>Electro-insulating lacquer for the prodn. of heat resistant coatings for metal wires is based on polyesterimide, dissolved in solvents. The resins are modified by condensation (by cooling) of tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)-isocyanurate or tris-(2-carboxyethyl)-isocyanurate and have an OH no. 150-600. The solvent is based on (di)ethyleneglycol monoalkyl ethers and their esters and/or diacetone alcohol. Use of objectionable solvents (e.g. DMF, diacetamide, phenols etc.) to dissolve the resin is avoided. Solns. based on solvents of the invention also have lower viscosity than obtd. with other solvents so that more resin can be dissolved. They also have improved storage stability.</p> |
