Warp knitting machine for producing pile fabrics - avoiding time-consuming replacement and resetting of pile sinkers

Appts. comprises pile sinkers mounted above closing-knocking over bars, pref. with heights which are adjustable together, in groups or individually according to a programme, in order to obtain certain high-low effects in the fabric. The machine may be used to produce pile fabrics with single weave, or pile fabrics of which the foundation fabric also has cross-stabilising long weft threads. Instead of the conventional fixed knocking-over bar, the machine uses reciprocating closing-knocking over bars, preventing the ready-made fabric from moving upwards with upwards movement of the needles. The machine avoids the time-consuming labour of replacement and resetting of the pile sinkers or their holders, and produces pile fabrics with shorter or longer loops with pile sinkers at one height only.
