<p>Method for recovering Cu and Zn from Cu- and Zn contg. sulphate solns., e.g. those produced when leaching Cu-Zn complex ores, or when dissolving Cu-Zn scrap in H2SO4, comprises adjusting the pH to 3.3-4.8, pref. 3.5-4.3 by addn. of CaO and/or Ca(OH)2, whereby mainly Cu and to a lesser extent Zn are pptd. as basic sulphates. The mixt of pptd. basic Cu and Zn sulphates are sepd., the solids contg. a relatively high Cu:Zn ratio and the filtrate a relatively high Zn:Cu ratio than the original Cu- and Zn contg. solns. Cu is then pref. recovered by electrolysis.</p> |
