A device for fluid treatment of textiles comprises a container in which a fluid and the textiles are deposited, and a pump within the container for circulating the fluid so that it passes through the textiles. Within the pump housing are provided. Vanes which are rotated e.g. by a drive belt at constant speed and whose direction of rotation can be reversed. Pref. angle of incidence of the vanes is adjustable to vary the fluid flow. The drive is used partic. for washing Wool and yarn hanks. The device is simple and allows uniform washing of the textiles.
