<p>1462320 Mixing apparatus UPJOHN CO 25 Nov 1975 [23 Dec 1974] 48432/75 Heading B1C Apparatus for mixing a plurality of reactive liquid components comprises a mixing head 12 and a nozzle assembly 10 mounted thereon the nozzle assembly comprising an open ended tubular casing 30 having rotary agitator means therein, means in the head for driving the agitator, the agitator including an open ended basket section 36 disposed with its open end adjacent a face 18 of said head, liquid component feed passages 14 in said head terminating in feed ports 22 which open onto the face of said head-within the confines of the open end of said basket section, the apparatus including an insert member 50, (not shown in Fig. 1, which is stated to represent a conventional mixing head and nozzle but shown in Figs. 2 and 4) adapted to be received in the open end of said agitator basket section and rotated therewith, said insert member comprising portions 62 extending radially adjacent said feed ports so as to sweep said feed ports to prevent or reduce the tendency for products to accumulate at or in said ports.
