<p>The sepn. module has a number of sepn. chambers mounted one above the other. Each sepn. chamber comprises two horizontally opposed packs of sepn. plates which extend sideways and are inclined downwards and inwards. The packs of plates in each pair enclose between them a central collection zone for solid particles. The packs of plates have outlets which in a pair of packs are at a distance from one another and which are located at the interface with the central collection zone. The inlets to the packs of the plates are on the outer sides of the packs. An outlet for the sepd. solids is located in the base of the separator at the bottom of the central collection zone. Passages lead from central collection zone at a point near the top of the lowest pack of plates to the inlet side of the pack immediately above, and from this pakc similarly to the next and so on, so that the liq. is conveyed in stages upwards through the separator. An inlet at the top of the separator is located directly above a passage which leads to the inlet of the lowest pack. The device provides quicker and more efficient sepn. than its predecessors, has a long operating life, and requires very little maintenance.</p> |
