<p>The rectangular hollow building blocks are designed for dry, mortarless wall erection, and can if desired be filled with concrete to provide statically rigid columns or a reinforced concrete skeleton frame. Each block incorporates top rectangular projections, normal to the outer walls, for interlocking in corresponding hollows in the bottom of the next block above it. Each block (1) comprises two side slabs, and three transverse slabs (4, 5, 6) providing stiffening. All three transverse slabs are flush with the underside, but project at the top for interlocking (7, 8, 9). The side slabs overlap the two outer cross steam slabs by about half the width (a) of the latter. The blocks may be made of aerated concrete.</p> |
