An automatic trip relay for electrical distribution systems has the trip current value determined by a shunt resistor located in the plug in socket terminals. The complete unit is located in a housing (1) and consists of the trip relay (4), with manual reset, and is plugged (4a, 4b, 4c) into a socket connector (3a, 3b, 3c) located (2) on the base. Electrical coupling is effected from two contacts (4a, 4b) to the other (4c) over the relay (4e) contacts controlled by the magnetic trip (9). Both ends of the coil are coupled between sockets (3a, 3b) with a current limiting shunt resistor (5). The shunt is either in the form of a number of thin parallel strips or as a coil.
|
